A Maine Coon cat from Unfurgettable Maine Coon

Maine Coon colors

People ask about Maine Coon colors. I see black, red, silver, smoke, and tabby. I do not charge more for color.

One price

Black, red, blue, silver, smoke, cream, and tabby. I do not keep a separate page for each one.

Smoke and silver can shift as the coat comes in. I update the listing. I do not promise a final shade early.

Color is not a personality, and it is not a price tier.

I like a full coat. The color is the part that changes from litter to litter.

Black

Black is a color I see. It is not a different price.

A black kitten can show a little rust in the sun. I still call it black.

Red and cream

Red, cream, and the warm colors. People say orange. I say red.

I see these often. Same price as black.

Silver and smoke

Silver and smoke can look different at 8 weeks than they do at a year. I update the listing when I see the shift.

I would rather update the listing than promise a shade the coat has not settled into.

Grey, blue, and brown tabby

Grey, blue, and brown tabby show up too. I am not going to pretend I have every color on a chart.

A tabby is still a Maine Coon. The pattern does not change the price or the care.

White and calico

White happens. Calico happens. I do not charge more for either.

If a color is not in the current litter, I will say so. I will not invent a kitten to match a search.

Color is not a health claim

Color is pigment. It does not tell you the temperament, and it does not tell you the parents were tested. The DNA work is separate.

A black kitten and a red kitten can both be mine. If someone prices them differently, that is not how I work.

What color does not change

The coat is thick no matter the color. Brushing is the week. I wrote that on Maine Coon cat care.

A lighter coat does not mean less brushing. A darker coat does not mean a different cat. Watch the cat in front of you.

What I do not charge for

Eye color is not a coat color, and I do not charge more for it.

I do not raise short-legged cats or curled-ear cats. If you are looking for that, this is not my house.
